Mac OS X: Move the Dock and Menu Bar To External Display

In Mac OS X, you can move the Dock and the menu bar to an external display by following these steps:

  1. Connect your external display to your Mac.
  2. Click the Apple menu, and then choose “System Preferences.”
  3. Click “Displays” to open the Displays preferences.
  4. Select the external display from the list on the left side of the window.
  5. Check the box labeled “Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available.”
  6. Go to the Apple menu and select “Displays.”
  7. Choose the external display that you want to move the Dock and menu bar to.
  8. Select “Use this display.”
  9. The Dock and menu bar should now be displayed on the external display.

Note: If you want to move the Dock and menu bar back to the main display, simply repeat the above steps and choose the main display as the target display.

You can also use a keyboard shortcut to move the Dock and menu bar between displays. To do this, press the “Control” key and the “F2” key. You can press the “Control” key and “F2” key multiple times to cycle through the available displays.
