In GNOME, you can find the serial number of a drive using the Disks<\/code> utility. Here are the steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Open the Disks<\/code> utility by clicking on the Applications menu and searching for “Disks”.<\/li>\n
  2. In the Disks<\/code> window, select the drive you want to find the serial number for from the list of drives on the left-hand side.<\/li>\n
  3. Once you have selected the drive, click on the gear icon at the top right corner of the window and select “Drive Settings”.<\/li>\n
  4. In the “Drive Settings” window, you will see the serial number listed under the “Device” section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Alternatively, you can use the udevadm<\/code> command to find the serial number of a drive. Here are the steps:<\/p>\n

    1. Open the terminal by clicking on the Applications menu and searching for “Terminal”.<\/li>\n
    2. In the terminal, type the following command to find the device name of the drive:\n
      \n
      <\/div>\n
      sudo fdisk -l
      \n<\/code><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    3. Look for the device name of the drive in the output of the fdisk<\/code> command. It will be something like \/dev\/sda<\/code> or \/dev\/sdb<\/code>.<\/li>\n
    4. Once you have found the device name, type the following command to find the serial number:\n

      sudo udevadm info --query=property --name=\/dev\/<\/span>sda | grep ID_SERIAL<\/span>
      \n<\/code><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Replace \/dev\/sda<\/code> with the device name of your drive.<\/li>\n
